Hey all,

Here is my first ever box-modelled human! hehehe.

Modelled in Caligari Truespace and Textured in Wings3D using teh1ghools tutorial (thanks man!)

I'm not too happy with the head, but know that I know the basics, I'm going to make a new model with better mesh topography for the body, and a head mesh rotoscoped from a photo.

The face texture is one that I found of Gordon Freeman from Half-Life after a quick GIS. Just wanted something to play with while I learnt the software.

The pants and shirt texture were made by myself.

Here is the mesh:

Let me know what you think! Not the best mesh I know, but it's a start.
lol that is neat!!! of course from my veiw cos he looks so funny!!! good job, mine always end up being alien or ciber guys. maybe if you don't want anythin' funny.... you could try making the face a bit more spread out if that's possible
Looks like the standard dim 3 character mesh you come to expect. Cool, though.
That's pretty good. Smile

The proportions are not completely correct, but that doesn't matter a whole lot most of the time.
Thanks for the feedback all.

Yeah he's sorta goofy looking and stuff, but it's a start hehe.

Gonna have another shot at it within the next couple of weeks.

I wasn't too worried about proportions at the moment, just a quick exercise in box modelling and texturing. I'm sure my next attempt will be much better Smile
the textures on the face and jeans are brilliant!

What do you mean?
One eye is looking down and one's looking strait.
Good though way better than I could do.

Usealy Dim3 models look like they have this standard of low geometry. A couple hundred polys per arm, a few hundred on turso and head, you get the picture.
Thats cause it runs faster, I don't see much difference in game.
