Haven't seen it, but I've read the first volume of the manga so far. I'm actually actually finding myself having to avoid using small metal balls in some of my drone ideas.

I am still in the development stages. I have been using C4D since v5.2 and am currently using v10. I am a competent animator and do all of my own rigging ( I created a system for character animation for c4d called Stray CAT) .
I have a blog that has my reel, a few illustrations and sample scenes ( pre v10 though):

Evangelion was pretty awesome. I love the designs on that show.
I really loved the ghost in the shell game for the PS1 ( 12 levels, machine gun with 2 settings, grenade and heat seeking missiles). What's nuts is how amazing that game was back then. what was also amazing was the fact that I didnt know a single other person who played it.
The idea of my game would be that the mechs would be not the huge ones like in armored core but smaller tighter mechs who could get in and out of buildings.
When I get the ball rolling I will let you guys know.
cheers.

Hey thats pretty good.
It's got way more polys than you really need, but it's shaped quite well. You don't need to extrude everything, instead start with a blocky basic shape and use the cut and connect line functions.
Looks good, but don't forget the bridge function. Also the grip is far too high poly, you only need 2 maybe 3 splits in the model area, maybe less as you're not really going to be seeing it. Also the little side panels don't need that many polygons. Extra polys are for detail, and all those polys add no detail, they just slow things down.
@ Imon: I can model and draw too!
Я могу слишком! en ik!
Nice gun James, like he said, don't add too much detail to places that the player wont be able to see anyway.
But it sure has a nice shape!
thanks

like i said, still lots of work to be done. Im going to clean up the unneeded polygons.
most the stuff there was bridged, i did extrude a little though.

everybody can draw and most of us can model. but not pretty good.
and here is, what we say if somebody isn't a professional:
no, you cant draw.
you cant model either.
but you are pretty good.
