Btw ... the engine slows down considerably moving from 1K to 2K (not in this video) during loading :/

What do you mean by that -- do you mean the map file size or something else? If you mean bigger textures, yes, it'll do that, and it's all in uploading the textures to OpenGL -- OpenGL compresses the textures to save space and it's really slow -- that's one problem I hate and don't really have a workaround for.

ccccc, try making the wood darker and a little less saturated. It would probably look better.
