How do I make a certain object in my model be transparent when I add the texture in Blender?

You make the texture transparent a bit. Just use the eraser tool in Gimp or Photoshop when your tex is over a blank background. Blank, not white, black, or colored.

I don't gots either Gimp or Photoshop.
