hey i wonder if it's possible so that you can have one skeleton setup and have many different models of characters using skeletons so that if you make a character and make a different one you don't have to animate him all over again?(maybe assign the vertexes but not animate)
I think they can already do this in other games.
I think you could do that. I know how too but I could figure out how to write it out.
Edit: I think you would just have to have the same bones as the animations or something like that. Maybe you could be able to import another Dim3 models animations.
The animations and poses are separate XMLs from the model for this reason. You'd have to recreate the bones and re-attach them to vertexes, but you can then re-use the animations and poses.
In the future, there could probably be a utility to help make this faster.

yah and maybe a tutorial.
I mean its possible because ive surfed forums on modding and ive seen how people have taken character models they make and they have exactly the same animations as the default characters in the game.
