Ive got a suggestion for the editor.
I was making a water city (a city with lots of pools and waterfalls and stuff like that) and i wanted to make under-water buildings. So then i thought there should be an air pocet system and thats it.
As for the question, why are portal and sight path edit sepperate?
I find it very confusing.
EDIT:
Another thing there should be somthing where you can change one side od the wall to another texture or
if its possable please tell me how.

The portal and sight path are separate because otherwise the UI is a bit confusing (when do you drag a portal and when do you drag a sight path?)
No way to make wall with a different texture on one side or the other, you'll have to make it two walls. If you can see a wall from two sides, you should make it have real thickness (i.e., two segments) anyway.

Just to note, of course the portal UI is easy for you(gill), but for beginners it's confusing

.
Whats a UI? And is it possable to do air pockets underwater?
Dunno, means interface somehow :P. (no idea what it stands for).
One sec, I'm gonna look it up.
Found it, User Interface.
lol I though every game designer would know that immediately! UI–––User Interface.
As far as I know, air pockets are not possible right now. You may be able to cheat your way to one, but I'm not sure how.
About the air poket thing, I did try to make another
piece of water with no drowndin but the physics mod
came into place so air pockets are a sugestion I have.
Oh and brian, in the next beta or version (whatever the
word is) will it be so that under cielings or floors, you won't
see rain?
