1: Okay, well, Brian this bug is really anoying. If you put a light on the right of the model, the right side of the model is dark and the other side bright. If you put it on the left the left side is dark and the other side is bright. Very odd :|.

2: When you use a normal map, the model looks like this:

Considering the model looks like this:

it's pretty neat, but no matter what I do the part of the head that is darkest is black. I surround it with lights, use full ambient lighting, but the lighting always is really sharp like that. Are normal maps only effected by one light? If so, could you change that to a few so it doesn't look so weird?
[EDIT]The first image didn't upload right, let me fix it....
ccccc, I'll put this on my list -- you'll need to get back to me after I get farther on the mesh stuff because it's going to change a boatload of code and could easily effect this.

Wait, Brian, could my normal map be the cause of the sharp lighting thing? It might be because of tangent space/object space/world space/camera space normals, I don't know which mine is Sad. Here's the map:

Actually, I'm pretty sure that's it. I'll play around with this....
It's definitively your normal map.
Cinema 4D produces the same result:

(The model is a simple flat surface and the light is coming from the white glowing sphere on the right.)
I tried all the different normal map modes in C4D (Tangent, Object, World) and they all produce a similar effect.
Yes, I need to make a tangent space normal map.
