Building a series of curbs that curve and drop in elevation. I don't think there is a
rotation tool and putting numbers into the Free Transform line will be time consuming. If there is no rotate tool, would be great to have one for quick x, y, or z
rotation of primitive objects or an extrude tool to pull a form out of a poly rectangle.

Yes, and extruding right now is annoying because it automaticaly chooses an amount to move. You should be able to move your mouse as far as you want it to go then click to stop (like any modeler).
We'll have to wait until Brian can get us a test version of the new Dim3 Editor. Then we can offer suggestions for new features. This new Editor is supposed to be very much more "modeler-like". I do hope these features are added though.

Look forward to the new editor: had read something that there was going to be a
mesh mapworking tool. In Marathon, laying out grids and using the height tool and
texture tools in the interface window allowed for a lot of flexibility in developing
map levels by eye and refining on the grid.
With a rotate tool and the features being discussed-could make some architectural layers. More design is already available in Dim 3 and the Demo is a great example-but having fluid tools to make more detailed curved and changing angle architecture would be great.
Will wait for the beta.
There is an Editor import feature to design for .obj models and height maps-anybody has used this? Seems like a good feature. I do like working in a game engine's native editor as usually the work-arounds to get the imported object to work in the editor are a bummer.

it works, but you have to be very careful with your modeling right now. if your walls are anything but perfectly rectangular and vertical they'll import as floor pieces... which comes out really ugly in most cases...
Really ugly unless you change the texture sizes alot
