I have to have this all working by now!
I suspect you might have a port being blocked. On the HOST machine, go to the firewall and unblock these ports:
11800-11803
If its leopard, then it has a whole new firewall which they "simplified" and makes it annoying to do this. On a tiger firewall it's much easier.
With the new 2.3 stuff, there's a LAN chooser that should broadcast and automatically find all the games on a LAN (like Quake 3 Arena.)

I'm still on Tiger (phew). Sure try that.

It works with WAN. But I can't get LAN to work.

Is the game finder not working? Have you tried to connect manually (i.e., typing in the IP as if it was a WAN game?)

Yes I have! Do you know what's wrong?

You have to give me a little more information here!
1) Does the game appear on the LAN list?
2) If you put in the IP address, and try to start a game, what ERROR message does it give?
3) And, without any changes, the WAN games work? I've never seen that before.
You might have them reversed, LAN = LOCAL (local network), Wan = WIDE (internet).

I tried hosting a server from my brothers computer and joining from my laptop. (Both on the same network etc.)
The server showed up in the list but when I joined, I got an error message. I just can't remember what kind of error message it was, and my brother is being an idiot and won't let me try it again.
It might be an Intel/PPC problem because he has a PPC G5 and I have an Intel processor.
I'll try to recreate it asap, but it might take a few days until I have access to his computer again.

1) If I host a WAN game another computer can join perfectly. (The game appears in the LAN list).
2) I can start a game but I can't join it on another computer using LAN. The error message is host unreachable(no receive).
3) WAN games work! It is WAN. I'm using an ethernet cable from one computer to another.
