I downloaded GIMP, and when I tried to run it, it said it required X11. I download X11 and try to install it, and it says I already have newer software on my computer!
WTF? by the way I am on an G5 PPC running OS 10.4.

Any help is much appreciated.
I would highly suggest you ask this at the GIMP forums, (if there is one) as they would be far more experienced in this regard. However, you might try re-installing X11 on your computer from a Mac OS X Software Install CD/DVD.

I imagine it's giving you that error because 10.4 already installed a newer version of X11, you would be trying to install an older version. Make sure you have the absolute latest version of GIMP for Intel or PPC 10.4 (whichever your computer is).
Alex: I tried, I can't get The GIMP on my intel :/.
I found something called "GIMPShop" it's UB, so you might try that.
I downloaded GIMPShop and it works great. Thanks for the help guys.
Awesome! Glad to help. Smile
Doe gimpshop have a more maclike interface?
Does the OS 10.3.5 install disk have X11 too?
After hours of trying to get it to work, jut install X11 from your install disk, OR, if you lost your install disk like me, download from this site (it's like the only NEW X11 download on all the internet :P): http://cjmart.in/2006/12/01/install-x11-...ment-66108

(don't worry it's completely legal)
