Im haveing a problem. im new at this and i made a sniper rifle on wings. i exported it on lightwave but when i tried to open it on the animator it said it could not locate vertexes. i know there are vertexes what do i do?
Weird, never heard of that error before.
Try exporting it as an .obj, that's the format that's generally used/supported.
i tried what you said and something came up saying that a material was found and i must select a PNG file to b used for this material. what does that mean and what do i do?

Whatever texture you used, you'll need to convert it into a PNG -- and one that has sides that are a power of 2 (2x2, 4x4, 8x8 ... 256x256 etc). Then select that file when importing.

Okay, first:
Is it UV'd? If not, and you don't know how, look at teh1ghools old tutorial:
http://homepage.mac.com/rplayne/.Public/WingsBasics.zip
Okay, then you need a texture. Textures have to be sizes powers of 2 (in pixles) and .png files.
iow: 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256
They however, do NOT have to be square.
Once you've made a texture (try photoshop, or gimp [gimp.org, free]) THEN import it to the animator
