Full Version: Need Suggestions: Key Commands for Mesh Editor

There's three pairs of "modes" in the new editor (you'll see another beta soon.)

Drag mode: Drag entire mesh, drag polygon/face of mesh, drag vertex of mesh
Grid mode: None, small, medium, large (no more always on grids)
Vertex mode: (works for vertexes touching but NOT in the same mesh) None, together, snap

I want a "quick" key that switches between these modes. Is there any standard, ala Wings? Like R or T or Q? Not even a command key (it's not very OS X like but very Wings like.)

I can, of course, make it configurable, but looking for something quick for v1.

No specific key that I know of, but I think Q would work, something close to the WSAD keys. I don't like key-shortcuts that are across the keyboard.
tab seems to be used alot for fast switching.
But tab is already used for switching views.... Q works Smile
Why not be able to set all key shortcuts in 'Preferences'? Q as a default is good though for drag mode, w for grid mode, and e for vertex mode. Keeps them close together.
