This project is based on an old community project called "Bloodrush".
Bink and i decided to make our own 2D version.

"Play as a white blood cell, charged with all important job of making sure you don’t get sick. Blast those viruses before they harm you, or your host!"

A playable version will be out soon!

You can find and download the original Bloodrush dim3 project on this page.
Sounds cool. :D
Is the gameplay the same as the original or different?
What gameplay ccccc? Bloodrush was a stale boring game that needs a redo like nothing else! Looking forward to Bloodrush 2D Imon and Bink! Smile
Lol, true :P.
What I mean is, is it going to use the different color laser for different virus game or is it gonna be completely different?

You'll need to shot virus and eat the dead ones before the living virus kills you. :P

Yuuuuck!! I really am excited about this though, bloodrush was a good concept, and it would work great in 2D.
hmm... that doesn't sound much like how it works in the real world... maybe set the viruses on a timer ( a long one, since viruses are slow and not technically alive) , so when you get near them, you have to absorb them through endocytosis before they infect you. but if they do infect you, you explode with a bunch of viruses.

Then the big issue would be bacteria, because they can move around purposefully and cause you damage. but you can employ antibodies to cripple and destroy them.
I'm happy to announce, that Blood Rush 2D just reached Alpha status.

It's fully playable, however there is no interface, no real levels and a few bugs are still there.

Once we reach beta, we will probably release a version to the public for testing and feedback.

Wow! Neato. You guys work fast. Are you coding an engine yourself or what?
Our own engine? Not quite... it's TNT Basic.
I don't have to code input handling, sprite drawing or sprite collision, but everything else. It's really not that much work though.
Interface has been almost completely finished and the whole thing is still less than 1000 lines of code. Smile

EDIT: Actually, there's probably nothing that I couldn't do in C++ and with SDL.
I don't know about collision, I'd have to write something myself, though that's not really hard.
When I get my computer back, I'll probably port it to C++/SDL.
I'm currently working with TNT Basic, because it's the only thing that runs on Mac OS 9. Smile
