You should be able to put the mouse over it for a while and it should tell you.

You sure? No tooltips come up for me, what I mean is, what do they do? If there was a tooltip, it would probably just say "shadow box" or "view box" not a complete description of it's function.

They are hints for some things. The view box is a bounding box that is used to clip the model out of the view, and the shadow box is used to project the shadow (in this way you can mess a bit with the boxes to get more desired results, like moving the size/start position of the shadow around a bit.)

Awesome, I asked because I was hoping that I could change the start position. 
Does it center it in the box or what?
[EDIT]nvm I got it to work. Awesome! I could never figure out why you said that dim3 shadows were fast and accurate when the feet didn't line up at all, I was kinda wondering if you noticed how bad they looked but now the look awesome! :D
