I'm really new to all this and i need some help.
I've tried making models already but they all just turn out SHIT.
I'm currently using Wings 3D.
So i would really appreciate it if you could post some simple modeling pointers.
Thanks

The smooth face function is really handy if you know how to use it well.
And try using your school comp's blender. Once you learn, its pretty good.
kk thanks for the tip
but sometimes when i smooth a whole model it like separates.
any tips to help with this??
NEVER SMOOTH YOUR MODEL!
I wont explain it now, but thats cruel! And it looks shitty.
There are a ton of those threads on the forum where the people already answered your questions. You can find the threads under... 3D Modeling Help.
kk thanks
But when you smooth it well it looks fine.

Its neither looking fine nor very useful for animation. Believe me, i am modeling since 4 Years.
i'll take your word for it.

4 years? Cool! I've been modeling for 4+ years myself.

Though you're better at it then I am.

I used to smooth alot when I started out-DON'T.
Here's a cool low poly character modeling tutorial (isn't about wings but it can be applied to pretty much any good 3d modeler):

Also, I recommend blender:

imo it's alot better than wings, people disagree mostly because of the interface, but once you learn the interface it's VERY powerful.
He has blender - its on his school comp. @ all the smooth complainers - Smoothing is good if you don't just smooth the whole thing, but kinda make "Guiding" Polies to help with the smoothing and only choose specific polies.
