I can't find the data or whatever you need to add a map for the game engine. and can there only be one map per engine? Please rsvp. oh and btw Hi everybody im new.
Launch Editor, hit the cancel button when it asks you to load a map, then hit NEW, this will start a map.

There's a 3rd person game tutorial in the tutorial section which (sadly is missing some images) but leads you through some of the next steps.

that's not what I mean. I mean to compile but the data used to compile is what i can't find.
There is nothing to compile if you did not download the source code. The maps use dynamic lighting so there is no need to compile (often games use BSP files) light maps for your levels.
uhhh... let me try rephrasing it a bit. I want to make a separate engine for the map I made which brings up one of my questions. Can there only be one map per engine. But regarding my other question. I tried to do it by looking at other forums that were asking how to make engines but im still confused. I can't find the data folder with the information of my map. please help. and sorry if im sounding rude or annoying i've been trying to do this for days.
Do what ggadwa said, man. Download dim3 and do what he said. That is how you make a map to run in the dim3 engine. Then to test you click the red arrow button that says 'run map' when you hover over it.

There can be a million maps in one engine and the engine is already compiled so don't worry about compiling things. The other forum was talking about if you made an engine yourself, probably.
but how would i make it so I can distribute it to other people and play online?
Search the forum. There are plenty of topics about that. There should be one that's still open under this category -- http://www.idevgames.com/dim3/showthread.php?tid=2232
Note that you can't embed dim3 into a web page, if that's what you mean by play online. People will have to download your game to play it. Wink
I already read that forum and renamed an engine by the name of the level I made but it didn't work it just played the demo. So I figured that I had to find data of the level or something or I have to make a multilevel thing somehow. I only have one level is that what I need or do I need to make it into an actual game to make an engine of it. And if I do have to make it multilevel I don't know how to.
