Hey guys I have another noobish question thats been asked in other threads but hasn't gotten to my needed answer. I've also looked in the documentation but no dice. I need to basically run the game for multiplayer. I have found some problems on my attemps to make it work.
1.I don't know the commands for the server app.
2. How should the finalized server.xml script in the settings folder look like?
3.By browser you mean like firefox?
I'm sorry I'm asking such noobish questions

. Maybe it's just my firewall? I have to find out how to do this because my friend wants to play during his computer class with everybody else in the class but I still can't even make it lan. It always says "Host not found", Or "unreachable". Please help.
Well, I don't really know much about it, but first of all, you have to have a server to run it on, which you probably already know. Then, run the Server app that came with dim3, and start the game. You might have to change the IP address or something, but like I said, I haven't really done any of this. Hope it helps.
wow you replied really quickly It was like ten minutes and then BAM. All I had to do was refresh. But regarding your post I know there is the server app but what do you mean by server to run it on?
I believe you can HOST and JOIN games from the Engine now. You should be able to just open the engine, go the the multiplayer tab, and select HOST. Host a game, and then have another player join through the JOIN tab.
Ok, shooks, what I mean is that in the background of your game, you have to have the server application running.
THanks Now LAN works... Wow that was really simple solution... I'm a noob. Ok how do you make it so it works on the internet? I read another forum and tried that but it didn't work. IT says my server (in the server app) is LAN only. How do I change that?

That's only in the current betas of the mesh version, and it's not all working yet, but will be the future. There will be a switch to run dim3Engine in a server-only mode (like most 3D engines.)

I have to go to a track meet so I won't be able to reply but I found I still have a problem with the LAN. I think it may be a bug. I just try to join the default LAN server in the game and it says that status is ok but when I join it says ending game and it freezes. And if I try creating another server it doesn't work. What do I do? I'll be back in about 2 hrs.
Edit: I'm back
Brian can you download the new beta or do I have to be more experienced?
Download it from this page:

Lots of things are screwed up though, as it's a beta, so make sure to backup you dim3 stuff before using it.
Anyway, networking does NOT work in the new beta right now, and there is an error in the old version that causes a crash when quitting. It won't do that in the next version of the engine.
