I recently built a very simple level ( it is supposed to be an underground garage). I used c4d to build it and also used c4d's rendering engine to bake the lighting into the texture. I had to learn UV mapping at some point as well as baking and did this whole thing as an experiment.

I admit I had a blast seeing my level up and running in DIM with a full on ( albeit low rez) raydiosity texture on it. I wanted to share this with the community to see if they would get a kick out of as much as I did ( its really not the greatest level but hey why not id thought Id put it out there anyways).

So without further ado I present my scene ( as an obj and a png texture).I only ask that you dont use it for anything commercially and only view it on a personal level

To get the best results use the "toggle lighting" setting in the games engine so that the map is at full luminance.

I'm assuming this takes the new betas, right? You didn't mention that.

Cool, I've noticed that baking shadows into the texture really improve the look. Smile

By-the-way, are the outer walls black or are they just not there?
Just wondering, but are there any free or really cheap programs that can do texture baking? Because I'd rather not have to go through every texture trying to figure out where to hand bake it.

Nice room. Smile I really love texture baking, otherwise maps (not just yours) wouldn't look too good.

You could try Blender. Rolleyes

Yes it is for the new beta that allows uv mapped models. Sorry for not mentioning it. Yeah I dont know if blender does do any texture baking. It would be worth a look though ( I really wish they would do something about the interface though). yeah there are no outer walls. i left them open. was just a quicky model actually
Blender bakes, render<bake render meshes. Smile
btw: nice map. Smile should of baked shadows....
Thanks ccccc. I already had it downloaded but the interface lost me and didn't feel like exploring around it, as it looked like it had 1000+ buttons. lol
Plus, I like working in one big window that I can rotate freely, and just have basic functions.
