What kind of question is that, ccccc?
That's really good detail, Kyle. Good work!

Thanks, everyone.
If you're asking what techniques I used, I'd be happy to tell ya.
Otherwise, I used Photoshop.
Quote:Nice. How'd you make the texture?

Well, I started off with just the uvmap and some ambient occlusion. I then put a base texture at the bottom, and covered that up with like 30 layers of grunge (or something crazy like that), and balanced all that out to get some detail. After that, I made a backup of the base layer (in case I screwed up), and used the paint bucket tool with my color of choice (in this case, green), at different tolerance, to get the scratched up metal look. Then I took a white-ish/grey brush and outlined those holes in the paint to make it look less in your face and more realistic. Finally, I used a custom scratch brush (these are really helpful) to make the scratches on the edges, and around the bolts in the sides.
Oh yeah, I created a really small pattern of light and dark lines for the straps, and lightened the edges to make them look worn.
Hope that was helpful.

Thanks.
Was the grunge painted or from images?

That was painted, the base texture was relatively clean.

These look excellent to me. Some very impressive work!
So when can we expect to see this model pack available for download on the Dim3 files site? *non-chalant*

Never. They're planning to sell it.
Kyle, isn't it going to be sold on Turbo Squid as well as that other place?

Alex will put it up for sale on Turbosquid and wherever else he pleases, as well as his site.
As for me, I will also have it on my site (for the same price, obviously), and I will be selling it in an iTunes like model store integrated with FPS Creator, as well as on the accompanying forum, and hopefully wherever else I can find (that Alex hasn't covered, of course).

Some news, the planned size of the pack has increased quite a bit, but it looks like it will be done sometime before 2050. I have been working on a set of metal walkways (with a beautiful texture, may I add), that will be relatively easy to assemble in the editor of your choice, and will be fairly complete, including stairs and supports for walkways. I'm also thinking about making some nice architectural models to accompany the room textures, and maybe make some skylights and windows.
