I was wanting to make a town so i tried making it with animator scenery but it was not solid, so i constructed a building out of segments and made it a primitive so my question is:

Is there a way to save a custom primitives for later use?

Thanks

(Edit: Sorry can you move this thread to editor, im a bit tired and did not check.)

There's no way right now, but in the new mesh version (when it's finished) you'll be able to move things in and out of the library.

Note that all the primitives that you have are actually just in a map called "primitives". You can actually edit that map to create your own primitives.

Where is primitives?
Thanks, i cant wait till the next stable build!
I'm pretty sure it's inside the editor program wrapper (or at least as of 2.2).
I'm sorry, i have know idea what that is.
He means the package. Right click->show package contents on dim3 Editor.app. I am not sure beyond that. Too late to go find out. Smile
Ive opened it but i cant add my new primitive in the editor?
I am also struggling with my buildings, you can walk thru the sides of them?! please help.
You have to put the primitive map in the map folder in the data folder, add a new portal and build a primitive in it, name the portal the name of the primitive, then move it back.
As for the building, if your not using a beta, make sure the walls are wall segments not floor or ceiling segments, then make sure that pass-through is not checked (double click the problematic segment/s).
I am using model->animator->add scenery to add them.
Thanks, i moved the primitives.xml into my editor package contents and it worked.
