I've been trying to bake a high poly model onto a normal map to use on a lower poly model but the whole image always is completely blue.
I'm using blender, this is what I did:
*UV'd the default cube
*Switched to object mode, duplicated the cube
*Set Bake settings to normal only, tangent mode, tried the bias and distance at a few different settings, and tried "Selected to Active" on and off.
*The edited the second model to have more detail, and hit bake with it selected (also tried with the simpler one selected).
Just bakes a light blue screen as if the model had not been changed or something.

Help?
That happened to me as well on tangent space. Try Object space and make sure the normals are calculated correctly.
Yes, but object space doesn't work good on models that are different on all sides. (of course a cube is the same on all sides, I'm just using it to test)
Anyway, I got it to work.
But now I can't do it again.

Blender 2.4.6 has no bugs. Just features. >.>
Actually it's blender 2.46, not 2.4.6. Wink But I would suggest you either ask at the Blender forums, or go the #blender IRC, I'm sure they'd know.
