I like both jazz, classic rock and hardrock (I <3 Deep Purple). Pop can sometimes be good, currently I listen to electronic and dance music. No real techno, though. I don't like rap, as it's no big deal to listen to, and neither is it hard to do a rap as it should be done, that is, the way I don't like it. I'm sure there must be exceptions, but I can't name any. My favorite tune is Morumbi, by Tocadisco. You probably already heard of it.

I used to hate rap until I heard this.
As for the rest, it's mostly (list ahead)
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention
Fleetwood Mac
Avenged Sevenfold
Killswitch Engage
Matt Ragan
Circled by Hounds
Alex "Siren" Brandon
Michiel "MCA" van den Bos
Skaven
Pip Malt
Smashing Pumpkins
...which make up about 90% of my iPod library.

Another cool basshunter song. The music video is kind of odd, don't know how he gets from a lan party to a dance so fast. :P

Hmmm, I'm just not very partial to music in general, especially any music with lyrics. The one very odd exception being One of Our Submarines by Thomas Dolby. o.O
I do however, appriciate music as a background or tone setter. And in that use my tastes are far more broad. Hence sometimes I'll play techno or electronic while I'm working, cuz the rythm keeps me moving at a nice pace. Or I'll play moody/powerful themes while writing or working on a dim3 project. I like Halo and other game and movie music for that role.
Classical music is good for relaxing in the car or something like that, Opera and rap are the two that I've yet to hear one I could listen to. As a general rule I can't stand modern lyrical music for any purpose, though sometimes a particurally good one makes good BGM for a movie or whatnot.
Yeah, teh1ghool is always telling me how wierd my music tastes are, especially the part that I never listen too music just for the music's sake, only as a backdrop for something else.

Forget teh1ghool. He thinks every teenager is supposed to like rock, hip-hop, and hoppity hop.
I can't stand opera myself, drives me nuts. Your music taste are actually quite similar to mine, Durandalski, some of my favorite musical pieces are from games and movies. Lord of the Rings has some absolutely fantastic music, as well as the Halo games. In fact, the music that's playing at the last cutscene in Halo 3, during the Chief's memorial ceremony almost makes me cry. :'(

Oh yeah, Lord of the Rings has great music to it, and Halo continues the Bungie tradition of musical greatness as well.
I also kinda like the Indiana Jones theme. It's another good one for when I'm working.
