Haha, Blender does have a horrible interface. :| The developers need to redesign it. I like blender more then wings. They're free so I don't think they come into the same category as Cinema 4D because it's obviously going to be better; it costs a lot more.

You might get it cheaper if you're a student. Some retailers offer specials deals. Maybe you could search for those.
I do NOT have that kind of money, nor can I use any program that does not run on Mac (as if I would ever use Winblows anyways). I tried to use Blender once, and it was far too difficult a curve for me to even bother with.
I will certainly investigate the use of other programs, but obviously cost is a factor at the present, so either free or an....alternative....would be preferred.
As for Meshwork being shareware, there is no way I would pay $30 for it. Or even $10, for that matter; fortunately, as was stated previously, there are other ways....
