Imon and I want to announce our new game called:
[.concept]
The main part of the game, the player will control a combat-mech. He will be sent on different
missions and can only get to the next mission after completing one. He will only be able to save
after he completed a mission.
At the begining of the mission the player will choose which mech to use. The further he proceeds
in the game, the more mechs he unlocks. Each mech has a unique weapon to use in combat.
[.gameplay]
The game will begin in 1st person view. As the player starts to walk forward, it switches to 3rd
person mode. While in 3rd person mode, you cant attack or turn the mech. In order to aim for
an enemy and take him out you will have to stop walking.
There will be two different HUDs, one for navigation and one for combat. In 3rd person view,
you will see a small map, your objective and of course your health and armor.
In 1st person view the map and objective disapear to make room for you combat HUD, including
the crosshair, ammo-count and your health and armor.
Missions objectives can be anything like
"Pick up Cargo at point A and deliver it to point B!" or just "Destroy all the enemy mechs!".
There will also be some mission where the player controls the pilot of the mech to infiltrate
enemy bases or control a vehicle, a car or boat, to escape from a certain situation.
There will also be mission where the player has to use more than one mech by switching between
them. While a mech is not controlled by the player, its AI will take care of enemies in sight.
[.weapons]
Each mech comes with one weapon in addition to the Machine Gun and the Fusion Rifle.
Some weapons are good against armor, some are good against health.
The weapon (and the mech) massivly effect the outcome of the mission.
If the enemies are all just small scout-mechs you will use a weapon that does damage
to health, if theres a battefield full of huge war-mechs you will use a weapon that damages
armor.
Armor can be recovered while in a mission by waiting for your energy shields to recharge.
Health will be recovered at the begining of a new mission and in some mission by returning to your
base and repairing your mech.
Weapon arsenal will include:
Machine Gun - Regular Machine gun, high firing rate, lots of ammunition, used to bring down opponents health;
Fusion Rifle - Like the Machine gun but shooting energy bolts to quickly lower the eneymies armor;
Chain Gun - Stronger than the Machine gun but slower;
Shotgun - low firing rate, devastating power, not much ammunition, good for close combat;
Rocket Launcher - really strong, takes out most enemies with one shot;
IR Missiles - not as strong as the rocket launcher but good to attack over a long distance, homing;
Laser - a thin laser beam cutting through almost everything and everyone, good against shields and armor;
Sniper Rifle - the name says it all;

Same Mech in Dim3 Editor. (
What do you think? Is that even possible in Dim3? Any ideas to improve?
