Hello, I need a tutorial or some advice at least on UV mapping a pistol in Wings 3D. I have read a few tutorials for UV mapping things, such as a head and a box or sphere. But I still need some help, because UV mapping a pistol is a little more complex. If you can post a link to a tutorial for uv mapping a pistol, or give me some tips i'd appreciate it.

Thanks.
Here's my tutorial. UV Mapping is @ the bottom.

Thanks, i'll try it out when I get home from school.
also, uv mapping a pistol should be ALOT easier then uvmapping a head Wink.
btw: welcome to the dim3 forum JDK721 Smile.
Thanks, I just got home. I'll post my results.
Man, when I do Unfolding.. the UV Map has like a 100 pieces. It has all these little pieces.
don't do unfold then Wink, just select each section of the model BY HAND and make each section a different color (right click), for a pistol, just make each side of the gun a different color, for instance, left side yellow, bottom yellow, top yellow, right side blue.
then continue>projectile normal. now allign the two peices and your pretty much done, there are other things you CAN do to it, but thats probably good enough. if you want to edit a uvmap that you already made, go to window>uveditorwindow.
Alright, i'll try it out. I've noticed, i'm not so good with programs :D.
Alright, it says a closed surface cannot be mapped. What does it mean by cut around some edges?
You should do it the way I showed. Make sure to mak the edges as cut and try not to make the unfolded sections too big. Iff you have a curved surface just select that surface alone(i.e. a gun that's a rounded square-like barrel, just select one side) and make the edges around it marked for cut and when you unfold it it will make sure taht there's no strechin on the texture.
