Can i use Mac instead of Mac OS X?
... Ok, I'm going to clear this up for anyone really REALLY new to dim3 or even Mac OS X.

You absolutely need Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher for dim3 to work. It will not run under Mac OS 9. It won't run under Mac OS X 10.1. Mac OS X 10.3.9 is what you need, or higher if possible.

Now, I would assume what your asking is this: Can I use dim3 on Mac OS 9 or older instead of Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher? The answer is no.

Now, if your just asking if you can use Mac instead of Mac OS X, to be literal, of course you can. But dim3 won't work.
???

Mac OSX is Mac, I don't know what your talking about... Mac OSX is an operating system, like windows XP (even though XP is a rip-off of OSX). The major difference is that OSX is a stable operating system that uses unique time saving features. whereas Windows is a collection of technological Junk thrown together by some random developers, and its most complex feature is the blue screen of death (oh and some commercials tell me I can listen to music and watch movies on my windows now! amaaaazzzinng [sarcasm]).
I prefer Macs for game work and graphics art, (except for 3DS Max which is PC exclusive). However, I'd love to get my hand on a powerful PC, there are TONS, and I mean TONS of awesome games for PC that you would NEVER find on a Mac, all that plus an Xbox 360 (by Microsoft) and an Xbox with Halo 2 (both by Microsoft with Bungie). All that, and I'd say that my company loyalty just about lies in the center. Smile
I tought the xbox 360 had the same architecture as the PowerMac G5
I kinda doubt it.

*Stay on topic please*
???What is This??? Does he mean Mac OS 9.x?

This is what you guys will hopefully be changing Smile

The future of games is really on the consoles. Not now, probably not for a couple of years, but eventually. Piracy is just too much of a concern on PCs and it's much easier to target and debug on consoles (one configuration versus many.)

Which leaves giant gapping holes for the non-professionals, like us.

Yeah, that's right Brian, the ease and simplicity of consoles really make gaming great on them. I should know, I have two! Smile
My friend doesn't get to use computers very often. He doesn't play very well on a computer. The mouselook confuses him. But he is really good at first to fight on my xbox, he beats me all the time. (I still pwn him at halo Wink )
