You have to make the model in animator with all the weapons in meshes -- keep the whole player model in one mesh and add the weapons in another, when weapons are changed or when they are picked up just change the mesh. If you attach the weapons to the same bone as the hand (it doesn't matter the mesh), it will follow the movements of the arm and hand, and body even. You just have to follow the correct parent/child structure with the bones.

I can get the weapons to attach to the player but I can’t get the weapons to move. My weapons include fists, sword, and bow. I want the arm animations in all weapons to be different so that’s why I didn’t give the samurai any arms when I model him. So it wouldn’t matter if I could attach a mesh to the player object. I need to attach an object that moves. For instance, if I press the space bar or mouse button to ready my bow I don’t want the running forward and jumping of the player to have any effect on the arms, and when the samurai unsheathes his sword I want the other weapons to remain visible but not active. I’ve made separate weapon models that have the other weapons put away while the active weapon is out.
Have I explained my problem adequately?

Apart from the lack of a good name, that is some truely awsome stuff!
You've done some really nice graphics tricks in your map making. Keep up the great work!

Durandalski "lack of a good name" - ouch
KingAlfonso - I plan on doing just that!
mafoo - nope it's a 3D charicter that looks 2D
General - Thx for the positive feedback, but I need to solve my problems with scripts and I'd like some help modeling new levels and enemies/ enemy scripts.
