Is it possible to use a movie file to create a moving texture on a wall. i.e. if I wanted one wall to have moving text or a moving image is that possible in Dim3?

If its just moving to one side (like water flowing or smth.) you can use the "shift" setting for segments (double click a segment).
If its more than that you can make different frames in the texture dialog.

Yes, that's the easiest way to do it, a movie file would be terribly ineffecient.

yes, but you would have to change it into multiple picture (png) files. you would then import each file into the texture diolog as a different frame .
