OK. I posted some other issues about Animator that were a priority to what I was doing before but now there is some new odd behavior.
I am now making several dim3 objects using Animator and dim3 Inspire and then putting them together in Animator by selecting the "main" mesh and doing an "import mesh". What is happening (and not consistantly) is that the imported mesh is taking on the material of the main mesh even though it's own original material is showing up in the metrials window and the mesh's vertexes get selected by clicking on the original material. I tried deleting the material's texture and adding different textures but the mesh still retains the other mesh's material!
What is odder still is that when I tested the model in editor the new mesh had it's proper material but the original mesh is, well... it's kind of exploded and expanded and black and nothing at all like what it looks like in Animator.
I know dim3 should not be working like this. Tomorrow when I get a chance to work on stuff I will try running it on my iBook and see how differently things behave. But, in the meantime, if anyone has any wisdom as to what is going on or what I should try to do to get things working - please enlighten me!
Thanks
this is a bug being fixed for the new version (i am pretty sure).
i hate bugs.
i hate his bug.

DIE BUG!!!!!
Oh. A bug. Phew! I thought maybe I was crazy. What's the workaround? Any?
Patience, being a virtue, is also a work around. (in this case) Smile
nice workaround :P.
this is the work around: make a time machine and steel brians release before he releases it Wink.
Both of those perhaps equally difficult for me...
I had this problem too, and I can't fix it either.

This has been fixed in the latest betas -- can you grab the latest and verify this for me (you don't have to use it to work, just download it and see if this bug is fixed.) There will be a real release as soon as I clear up a couple remaining things.

Hi. That's great news!
I'd like to check the beta out but when I try to download it from this page - dim3 v2.2 b6 (http://www.idevgames.com/dim3/showthread.php?tid=838) I get an error at this page -
http://homepage.mac.com/1/homepage404ErrorPage.html
Where should I be downloading the beta from?
Thanks
I dont think the beta 6 is still online. Try beta 9. Smile
