Using frappr (http://www.frappr.com/) we can create a map using the Google Maps interface to get a view of all the individual locations of the members here, showing us a different perspective of the iDevGames community.
Before going and adding yourself I would appreciate it if you could use this format:
"First Last (handle)" (without the quotes)
This is a completely opt-in map, so feel free not to add yourself for any reason.
Check it out, it's mighty cool. (http://www.frappr.com/idevgames)
EDIT: if you screw up the format, don't worry. Just let me know and I'll delete your entry so you can recreate your name properly.

Oh, I messed up with the name format. :( Ohwell, now I know where Keith lives, so when he's not online, I can go ask him directly.

Shouldn't the map's default view be set to show the entire planet?

Fixed. Now it by default shows the world view (thanks for pointing that out).

Cool! I'm in there now.
My peg actually lands quite close to where I live, which in case anyone is interested, looks like this from the air:

I wonder if there is a way to specify a specific latitude / longitude (I'm definitely not on the location the zoomed in satellite view shows ;) )

Whoo, Portland OR in the house! :) The little tick mark landed only about a mile south of my house.. pretty good :)

LOL to Volte..
Not that it isnt neat, I prefer looking for theme parks in satellite view, than know where people live though.

See this is tricky. I *live* in Houston, but my heart's in Montreal.
Sings *I left my heart, in San Fransisco*
This map clearly leaves no room for existentialist dilemmas. Bah humbug.
I'd add myself if it bloody recognised my City. What is the format for non-US people to enter there?
Monte: You do realise somebudy might just have reprogrammed a nuclear missile to point at a large building with a swimming pool on top?

DoG: I just typed wellington and got a javascript pop-up of all the wellingtons in the world. I then had to type it out in full exactly as was in the list, clicking didn't seem to work, but perhaps that's just a safari problem.

Very cool little toy. Maybe we can add a link this to the main page?

How weird. I was thinking of this last night.
It knows my city alright, still doesn't accept the input, though.

I had the same problem and I had to type my location in completely to match what was in the drop down list.

I tried that, too. I even tried voodoo. To no avail, though. Somebody tell me when its done being crappy, I'll sign up then.

Bloody hell Staffan, I was the northernmost for a long time there. :) And now you completely obscure my pin. ;)

Yes, I'll do that at some point.
Am I the only one in Asia? Feels lonely!
I'm wondering if you can set the default screen map so that the world is shifted a bit to the left. i.e. Japan is shown on the left, but also on the right (just a little) and my pin is on the right side. It would be good to see North America right near the left edge.
If this was a RISK game, my one man army would be defated rather quickly. I can see the hoarde that is in NA moving over the Bering Straight now.

I'm seeking allies myself! :p - I've already heard rumors of a full-scale invasion next week... (http://www.summit-americas.org/) :sneaky:

I don't see that as an option, but I'll keep my eyes open in case that becomes available.

@lightbringer: If you are the admin, may I suggest adding some tags (mac macintosh games programming etc) and a short description?
And a way to contact you from the frappr page (or here) so this thread doesn't need to be resurrected? ;)

Hrm, they added tags?
*checks*
Blah, frapr has gotten ugly and unnecessarily complex it appears.

Pool on roof: NICE.
EDIT: Don't feel like posting again...
So, yeah. I messed up the format too. Does it matter though? "Kelvin" is my first name...
