Simple Text Editor with Syntax Highlighting

I'm looking for a simple text editor with the ability to do C/C++ syntax highlighting (sp?). No compiling features are necessary. I'm looking at TextMate... but 50$, well... idunno. :\

TextWrangler (http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/) is free and has syntax coloring.
