Gamut is a puzzle game originally entered into the puzzle games mini-contest in April. Its gameplay is similar to a cross between Pipe Dream and The Incredible Machine. Players connect networks of pipes to achieve the correct configuration to satisfy the puzzle's goal.

I've done some work since the contest version. The one posted here is cleaned up a bit, and has a number of additional features to make the game more user-friendly. I'm working on a more major update; my hope is the make this the first game that I see all the way through to completion. All of my other projects have ended with loose ends still dangling.

Here's a summary of my to-do list for the major update:

Splash screen
More in-game controls, including clickable start/stop button, reset level button, speed setting, level selection, and show best solution (once solved)
Remember level completion, and allow starting from first unsolved level
Sound effects
Background music
Resizable level grid in editor
New graphics for game objects, panel, colors, and background
Smooth gameplay animation
More levels
Any other feature suggestions, and of course bug reports, are welcome. The game is a universal binary, and should be compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.9 through the latest, and possibly earlier.

I really like your game so far - it is challenging and provides a new twist to the pipes puzzle theme. In this type of game it is important to lead players along slowly at first as they figure out the capabilities of each piece, and I think you have done this well. Still, a short introduction to color theory might be helpful.
