What times of day GMT would you be available to play? Don't vote unless you're actually playing. I'll cast fireball.

Doesn't it depend on the day? I won't be free until Friday or after anyway.

Okay, so how about 20:00 GMT on a Saturday?

Tell me when, where and which version of Quake 3. :p
If anytime soon I'll try to get a version of 1.32 running on my MacBook however I doubt it will be a pleasant experience.

It runs okay in Rosetta. Over 30 fps anyway. There's a UB being worked on.

There is already a UB available, but I don't recall how well it worked.

The first version just crashed on launch, 2nd version was all black, 3rd version I forget, but I was semi-following the discussion and it wasn't perfect either.

As far as I recall 100 FPS is the least you should have when playing Q3(Arena) 1.11 since it greatly affects gameplay.
Someone with 120 FPS got the possibility of making a longer jump than someone with 30.
Anyway, guess there isn't much choice but try it out.

Are you sure about that?

Haha, that is just downright wrong.
When you jump in q3a it starts a jump event (same as when you shoot a rocket, or do anything), with the initial parameters like starting time, direction and speed, from then on until the even it over your position is calculated from the current time and those parameters.
That way 2 seconds after you jump everyone will see you in the exact same place, it also means far fewer network packets will be sent.
What on earth made you think that?!

Some l33t hacker said it while chatting in the game, probably. :)

Playing it since it were released.
In OSP servers some jumps is possible that wasn't in the original release, however I have never been abel to do them with less than 60 FPS while it's easy with 100(which is the max FPS I could get on my PB G4 867 Mhz).
If my memory dosen't betray me having above 120 FPS is considered cheating on most 1.32 servers, try it out and see for yourself.

Well, I tried out the new Universal build(1.32b not c) and it worked ok.
Running 1024x768 with 32 bits depth and a couple of background programs I managed to get an average of 60 FPS(max FPS 120 set).
Running with the default setup(640x480 16bits?) I managed to get betwen 120-129 FPS with max FPS 120.
Could have been better, could have been worse, however I couldn't do anything about the built-in acceleration in the OS X versions of Q3Arena, with mouse smoothment set to off and mac os x acceleration set to 0 using SteerMouse I still had problems playing the game.
