My brother in law was filling out personality profile of sorts for a job that he is applying to this weekend. You know one of those things were they give a statement like "I don't like to give up even if I encounter problems." and you are supposed to rate on a scale of 1 to 5 how well it describes you. Among normal-ish questions a buisness would ask were questions like:

I feel that there is something wrong with my mind.
I see strange things that other people don't.
I feel disconnected from my body.

:???:

You have to wonder what they would think if you answered in agreement to all of those...

Much more funny the question I had to ansver when I applied for a visa in the US:

Do you seek to enter the United States to engage in export control violations, subversive or terrorist activities, or any other unlawful purpose? Are you a member or representative of a terrorist organization as currently designated by the U.S. Secretary of State? Have you ever participated in persecutions directed by the Nazi government of Germany; or have you ever participated in genocide

Yeah, I'm the CEO of the Global Nazi-Comunist Terrorists International Inc, and I directed the genocide of at least 20 different races!!

Sometimes the questions are strangely worded, such as:

Have you ever tried sugar...or PCP?

One of my friends is applying for a job at a local supermarket.
On the application form it lists some activities that will be involved in the job.

Walking
Standing
Counting
Concentrating

Awesome.

That's a sneaky way of seeing if you're mentally locked into yes/no answers (as either will get you into trouble unless you're diabetic maybe). A Yes answer would imply that you've tried PCP, a No implies you're possibly ready to lie on your answers ("you've never tried sugar?").

The correct answer of course is to write a longer answer, or add "but didn't inhale" :)

The correct answer is "Mu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mu_(Japanese_word))."

Actually a Mitch Hedberg quote, could be a real question, I don't know.

If you're interested about the corporate world and such, read Nickel and Dimed, a reporter goes and tries to live on those wages and such, its a great read.
She talks about one of those tests as she applies to Walmart and it's obvious what the suck-up answers that will get you a job are.

Whenever I see one of those 200 question psych profiles, I just walk. The last idiots to offer it was Radio Shack, although I would've really liked to fill it out weird.

It had a bunch of questions like "I would steal to help my family". Of course you will.

Ah, lucky her. What they asked me today:
If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?
