I just tripped (heh) over this little video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzSRVgF501M). But the resolution was crap, so I decided to rewrite it to take full advantage of the monitor's resolution. A quick diversion/party trick/babe magnet/g3nER.Ic V1agR4.

Appzorator (http://ivanmilles.mine.nu/hallucination.zip)
XCode project (UB! Yay!) (http://ivanmilles.mine.nu/halluproj.zip)

Just launch it, stare at it for twenty seconds or so, then look at something else. Your bed, hand, kids, dog or a mirror. :ninja: You've seen it before, I know. If it doesn't work for you, download the XCode project and mess with the variables at the top of main.c. Also, try to position your head so that the "circle" is just at the border or your field of vision, and relax your eyes.

If nothing else, it serves as a decent framework for GLUT applications. ;)

EDIT: Oh, and if anyone has the possibility to build this for Windows, I'd be really happy – some of my un-enlightened friends are pining for it. :-/ It's a straight GLUT app, one source file.

Wow, now that's a trip man!

The pattern and speed is very reminiscent of the visual disturbances I get just before a migraine hits me. It's kind of sickening to watch... but the after-effect is *really* weird!

Hmm, I guess I've done too many real hallucinogens, this was unimpressive.
Now where is the Xcode project that allows me to print blotter?

Then you may find this interesting (http://www.engadget.com/2006/06/23/migraine-zapper-stops-headaches-before-they-start/), that is if you are not afraid of shooting yourself with it! ;)

That is really awesome. It made my whole room all wavy. Absolutely, Best. Thing. Ever.

I should be able to do it tomorrow (probably around 1PM EST) and I'll post it up here when I get done.

... MY MIND!

Seriously, that is some cool stuff. Especially 1-2 minutes later, when I get little wavy flashbacks.

Yeah, I've heard of that. It sounds awful darn dangerous! Luckily, I haven't had any problems with them for almost a year now.

This seems to also work in the reverse direction. And also for one eye only. Maybe it's possible to do some sort of stereo thing that does separate stuff for each eye.

P.S.: Another great idea: maybe it works to do the thing in color, and shift the colors into seperate directions.
