View Full Version : Pixen - Export Bitmap bug?

I made a simple drawing in pixen. Total of 4 colors. I then saved it as windows bitmap. And it became funky. The black of my image is always black, when I open it in preview. But all my other colors are drawn as one solid color. And it's always a different color.
This could be a very cool effect for a flashy sprite thing, but it's not really what I want. :p
Is this a bug?

Wouldn't it be better if you emailed the author of Pixen instead of posting a thead about it?

The reason I asked this here, is because I thought to myself...
Oh, I see. Maybe this is some form of 2bit graphic bitmap. And apple had taken artistic license and said, while making preview:
Dev One: Ok, time to make the function for loading 2bit windows bitmaps.
Dev Two: Are those the black and white ones?
Dev One: Yeah...
Dev Two: Heh, we're apple! Screw 2bit-edness! Just make it generate random colors for everything that's not pure black!
Dev One: Man, that's awsome!
But really I was just wondering if Windows Bitmaps in the this case were the old black and white ones, and preview didn't support them properly or something.

<über-pedant>Er Jones, 1bit is black and white... (well, two colour; I suppose they could be pretty much any two colours...)</über-pedant>

I have nothing constructive to add here except that Pixen is one buggy piece of software. I love it because it's got lots of... um, soul... but it crashes on me every 15 minutes.
