How is everyone's coming? Do you have playables? I have not seem many threads on the forum here asking people to check out work-in-progress builds; only one, in fact.
I have only started learning the basics of Unity - this weekend I plan to have something playable so people can try it out. In fact, as of this moment, I have not set down in stone which game exactly I'm going to create. I have two ideas that should generally work for the two weeks I have remaining, but it'll be a tough go!
How's everyone else doing on their entry?

I guess my thread is that only one. Maybe everyone else is too scared of people stealing their ideas ;)
Anyway to answer your question - I've not made much progress due to the real world getting in the way :( However the good news is that my musician hopes to deliver my soundtrack on Monday.

There are some entries listed on the entry page and also over at the OTEE forum. Maybe most don't know of the Work In Progress thread tradition.

Ditto :(
I'm hoping that I can finish some stuff up and work on it tonight. I'm taking advantage of this to play around with Unity, so we'll see how it goes!

My entry attempt is looking more hopeful now after narrowly missing out on a Wii an hour a ago - 15 minutes wasted setting at a nice warm desk.

It's going all right... I don't have much "spark" going into this game, since I just plainly don't like (making) the actual game, though it should be entertaining when done. This game is just plain.. It's a puzzle :P
Cheers

I will sit down and get to working tonight! But for now, yes, real world has got in my way.
Hopefully we can hear from a few more developers - let us know how it's going.

I'm not getting much done. I was hoping this would be the weekend of magic but I've been out playing instead. Maybe tomorrow.
I'm still learning Unity, though. I was originally attempting to cobble Quartz Composer into a Cocoa app but when I figured out Unity was offered for this game and it did the things I wanted to do (including putting spheres into the game) I was like.... wow this will be faster even though I don't know how to use it. So I hope to get this moving soon.

Unity is turning out pretty good overall for me, but I am still doing tutorials to try and learn it more thoroughly. Learning in order to make a game under a really tight deadline like this may not be the most ideal method to learn a new dev environment... oh well, that's what I got.
I think I'm going to get to work on my actual game now. I think I've gleaned enough from Tutorials to get most things I want.

I am also taking the opportunity to mess about with Unity. I'm not being wildly succesful, but my plan is to just finish something and be a "qualifying" entrant so I can continue to mess around with it from 9 months.

I think that's the goal of many iDG regular entrants. I could be wrong though. It's my motivation though :)

I hope to have something playable in about a week.

If you or anyone has questions about it, we have a community IRC channel that is extremely helpful. Details about it are here: http://unity3d.com/community.html

When are the busy times there? Whenever I've been on the channel there is only a handful of people and most of them not active.

We're about two weeks into Unity (and development on a Mac in general). I'm making a simple ragdoll physics game. For this we're actually more concerned with the art pipeline.
Just got the initial environment imported. Still need to work on the lights a bit:

:O :O :O
Amazing looking artwork man. Nice direction and vision on that.
That's what I like about Unity - it really does take the focus off programming and can put it back into doing unique, innovative things, either with gameplay or graphical styles.
Or just pushing pretty high quality product out the door very quickly :)
