This has been known (at least by the rumor sites) since January.

Sucky, huh.

Sucky? You consider that bad?

I was mostly just stirring ;)

As an optional feature I don't have to use, I don't mind at all.

It's actually quite useful. Ubuntu has had this feature for a while.
You can have a vim or pico doc or two open and not have to close them to chmod (which I seem to be doing way too much these days).

I dig the tabs too.

Yeah, I rarely have enough terminals open in Gnome to bother with tabs, but at the worst I would be indifferent about the feature.

Hmmm... shouldn't that window titlebar be in the new "dull grey" look?

I have always been a screen (http://www.gnu.org/software/screen/) person myself.

any advantages of screen over this?

you can connect to it remotely, and it doesn't cause programs to exit when it does.

And your friends/co-workers can connect to the same screen session. This is incredibly useful for me in two cases.

One, I or a friend can ask for a help on a server somewhere or on my box and we can both connect to the same terminal session.

Two, I run certain services such as irc in my terminal. Particularly, I leave one running on my work box for the irc there and I leave one running on a server at home connected to various networks. This leaves me on irc all the time and I can connect to them from any machine I happen to be running, even if I accidently happened to leave a home or work machine still connected to it and I am unable or unwilling to kill that connection.
