Only one option this time. I didn't want to end up with extra uncertainty.

I wonder which one you want to win
can you properly explain the options because I think I don't know what exactly they are

Hi uninterested parties
If you think all the offered choices (or the one with the most votes) are stupid, boring and not worth your time, then please tell us about it now!
This should be your project, so change it if you don't think it's one you want to participate in (yet).

Not that I'm voting (I probably wouldn't be able to contribute regularly), but what's the "Side scroller shooter with lots of physics" if not a platformer? I thought the sidescroller was going to be a shoot-em-up like gradius.

maybe a bit more detail on the options..not quite sure what I was voting for, lol XD
If the 'side scroller shooter with lots of physics' means the one we were talking about with the scripting language so newbies could make their own objects, that's the one I'm going for :)

"Platformer" combines the three platformer options of the other poll. If you want a physicsy platformer, than say that instead of side scroller.
Side scroller is like Defender.
Incredible Machine is the one where the "good coders" make an environment and newbies can make individual objects.
Use of a scripting language is an option in all of these.

can someone change my vote from side scroller to platformer please?
Thanks :)

I want a platformer game with lots of physics ;(

I guess that more or less wraps it up then. It's just that the other one was so tied up that none of the independent platformer options made the top 3.
I'd hate to make yet another poll about it. I thought "side scroller shooter" would be clear enough. I guess the general consensus is that we want to make a platformer with guns and lots of physics. It was hard for me to interpret the original topic, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

sounds good to me :)
So...shall we set up some official ways to communicate, then?

Telepathy...
On a more serious note, someone in our project is supposed to be looking into getting a subforum. I'm not sure if this has been brought to the attention of Carlos or not, but it soon will be.
That and a development wiki that Bjoernke is going to put together. Details will come once we get our forum.

Well, the problem with a subforum is that for those of us that never *ever* navigate the forum structure, using the "New Posts" link instead, the threads won't be particularly obvious in their relationship to the project. How about labeling all threads related to the game "XYZ Project - ...." instead? That would also help when searching for something related to the project.

perhaps a combination? I think a sub-forum makes the most sense.

By sub-forum, I meant something like Assembly Room, but either would work imho.

Didn't there used to be an incubator sub-forum or something? It would make the most sense, especially if it is an 'official' idg project.

Ok, we should have a round three for incredible machine vs. platformer, or a debate and THEN another vote.

No, I think it's time for an executive decision. If no one breaks the tie, then we'll make a physics-heavy platformer.
