Joseph, Bjoernke, and I have doled out leadership roles.
Diordna - General direction, music, art
Joseph - Code
Bjoernke - Web site, testing

If you're participating, please let us know in this thread what you'd like to work on. Coders should also mention what languages they're willing to work in, in order of proficiency.

well, I think that, perhaps, there should be a core team of developers, and other people submit patches...? This should be a project that includes everyone.

And how else could we form a core team of developers if we don't know what anyone can do? I'm not about to have Joseph start writing an engine in C when everyone wants to use Ruby, or tell an artist to write music.

Joseph (Joseph Duchesne ;) )

Code
C (Quite proficient, experianced with SDL and OpenGL)
Java (I'm ok at it)
Processing
PHP/MySQL (for web development and multiplayer server listings/online highscores)
Lua (It's not that complex, any programmer could learn it in minutes)
Other... I'm up for learning.

Graphics (2D, titles, menus and stuff)

Willing to help out a bit in:

* 2D Graphics. See BugThug at graveck.com. The artwork in there is mine, besides the top-down ladybug and the powerups.
* Music. Listen to Big Bang Brain Games at freeverse.com/braingames and also BugThug

Making games and stuff is also my day job, so I'll just be doing this for relaxation and to massage the creative juices.

I'd like to program; I'm sure other people can testify better than I how good I am at it.

I know ppc/x86/arm asm, varying levels of c, c++, and java/c#.

I love lisp and ruby. (though I am better at the lisp).

Oh yes, also fairly skilled in brainfuck, if such a skill is required.

The most important: Beta Tester

Can also help out a bit if we're going with c++. And if you ever need Perl (can't imagine a good reason though), let me know :)

I'm happy to help with small bite-size chunks of code in any language (tell me precisely what you want coded and what API it should provide), or design advice, plus of course technical assistance as always.

-Code in Java/Processing, Python, C (I can write the language, but have no API experience), any other language I could pick up in 30 minutes (Ruby, etc) (Didn't count BlitzMax, not a 'proper' language)
-Could do 2D art if needed

Code: C, C++, OpenGl, Java, Objective-C (a bit) (I'm also pretty decent as BSD sockets in case we want to try and make multiplayer lan :) )

Code: C++/C/Objective-C, Java, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby (Learned, but not used yet and I would like to try it out as part of this project)

Graphics: Good with Photoshop, Illustrator (ie 2D graphics), and I could do some simple 3D modeling

I never voted as I don't expect to have a lot of time to contribute with. Ruby came up a few times, if you decide to go with Ruby, I've written a fairly large amount of Ruby extension code. If you guys do decide to go with Chipmunk, I could probably lend a hand there as well.

I wrote Chipmunk with 2D platformers in mind, and have wanted to make a physicsy platformer for years. I might just change my mind yet, and shuffle some priorities.

I am willing to work with C and Cocoa. I'm time-limited at this moment but I'd love to chip in if I can. I can also do some music and/or graphics if desperately needed (I don't suck, but it takes time).

My available time goes up and down but the following are some of the skills I have:

Code: C, C++, Objective-C, PHP

Graphics: Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightwave (useful if the Cmd-R robot is used and the models exist then 2D images in all the poses can be created)

Experience related skills: Design, project management, testing programmes

I can write little bits of C++ and Obj-C, and I'm pretty experienced in PHP and HTML.
Graphics-wise, I'm fairly decent at Photoshop (textures mainly) and I can model most things decently in Blender/SketchUp.
I could also make chip-tunes in MilkyTracker.

I'm just back from holiday, so I'm just catching up on about the last two weeks of discussion. I'm not sure how much time I'll have, but I'd like to contribute a bit.
Coding in Obj-C, C, C++, Lua (I'm using it for small scripts in the game data in an Obj-C project at the moment)
Music - recording in Pro Tools (but not in dance type styles!) I play guitar and bass too.
Graphics - 3D modelling, Photoshop bits. Can't draw too well though.

I might just change my mind yet, and shuffle some priorities.

Should we quit our jobs to work on this project? ;D

It's really tempting, though I do like getting paid...

I guess maybe depending on which methodologies they use on the project. I've really grown fond of the 1000 line method-ology they use there.

I can use C/C++ decent enough that memory leaks aren't a problem. I'm also good with Java, C#, and just a beginner with Objective-C.

I lack any art skills at all, so don't ask :p.

I do play instruments and can make music. I had previously made the music for Chemical Bonds (http://www.malarkeysoftware.com/projects_ChemicalBonds.html).

I'm down for helping with any language. No real preference.

I would really like to help out

at the moment, my programming skills are really lacking, with only a basic knowledge of c++ and open gl, so this project might help me along there a bit :p

I hold my art skills in quite high regard though, and i can have a crack at anything from sprites to splash screens. I also have about 500mb of pre-made textures from my old modding days too which might come in handy

Alan (DaFalcon)

Design: I am ever a student of Game Design and I think I have realistic ideas about how to balance what is possible with what is fun and what is superfluous. I have experience both with overall game design as well as level design specifically, including two of the included mansions in Midnight Mansion (http://www.actionsoft.com) (Falcon Manor and Chateau de Medusa).

Art: I created the graphics for Hooptie, although the actual penguin graphics were based heavily on the original artist's work. I'm especially fond of creating splash screens and user interface screens, which can be seen both in Hooptie and in Snake Quest (http://www.snakequest.com/). I can also help out with character sprite animation graphics/design - particularly if we choose a cartoony look for the game.

Beta Test: I beta tested Midnight Mansion, as well as Snake Quest, from early stages. I'm not shy to give suggestions, though I sometimes don't have nearly enough time to fully test things on a regular basis (see below).

Free time: I have fleeting passions. Right now my brain is in overdrive design mode, taking in all the ideas that have been shared here and seeing how they fit together best, and working to fill in any gaps I see. I get very excited about projects and have a lot to offer, including all of my (somewhat limited) free time. If others lose interest in a project, I can sometimes lose my interest as well and my brain will seize on another passion, fleetingly. Right now, if this momentum is kept up on the forums and wiki with the team I see here, I can see myself contributing significantly in the areas listed above for the life of the project.

This is Achenar under a new screen name

Music/SFX/Audio - I made some of the music for Hooptie, and have worked on music and SFX for various games such as Reactive (www.revaro.net), Shivering Kittens (http://www.sealfin.com/) and Larm's Adventure (http://www.solarfusionsoftware.com). I've also made music and SFX for TV and Movies.

I've been learning and improving many of my skills regarding audio work, including various techniques of audio compression, which should help bringing file sizes down while preserving the original audio quality.

Here you can find examples of my work: http://www.last.fm/music/Monosylabik
