Power Writing Game
Brief description:
We are looking to convert a paper-based writing tutorial to a computer-based software/game. The target market is grade 4-9 student who need direct instruction on how to write an essay. The writing program has already been marketed, sold, and used by over 10,000 students nation-wide. Major contracts include: Chicago Public Schools, Detroit Public Schools, Dayton Public Schools, Houston Independent School District, and several charter schools throughout the MidWest. Schools have gone from 27% of students passing the writing portion of standardized exams, to 92% meeting or exceeding standards. The paper-based version is highly successful and popular among youths. Our vision is to create a game which can be loaded on PCs and Macs, and licensed to schools. I would also like to create a version which can be played on the Internet as well as downloaded to the computer.
Target aim:
This educational product will be licensed and sold to schools for use by student writers. Also, parents can purchase the game for their children who need additional writing help.
Compensation:
I am offering a percentage of potential revenue and upfront overhead costs as well.
Technology:
Possibly flash-based game for PC, Mac and Internet. If other options available, it will be considered.
Talent needed:
Game Programmer/Developer- Some experience, highly skilled- examples of work must be available
2-D or 3-D artists to create characters with diverse ethnic backgrounds- hip-hop culture, pop culture, geared towards younger generations. Realistic characters and background graphics.
Sound Producer- create music from genres such as hip-hop, R&B, rock, alternative, and pop. Music must appeal to younger generation.
Team structure:
I am the CEO of the CIC Academic Program, and also the creator and writer.
