Hi guys

I recently found this website called soundsnap.com which has been really useful for providing sounds - its basically an online platform for finding and sharing free sound effects and loops legally. I guess it’s a sort of You-tube for sounds - the only difference is that the sounds are always of great quality. Its got a huge collection of sounds, is really easy to use, and totally free.

I hope you find this helpful! :D

Thanks! Cool site.

Dug around a bit, there's a few cool sounds in there, but you have to dig through a lot of mediocre-and-down samples to find them. The ones you do grab you'll need to go over in a sound editor to make them game-ready: one clip of an explosion I downloaded weighed in at 3.3MB and had a lot of dead silence on either side. (However, in my experience this experience is pretty normal for sound sites.)

Negatives aside, the price is right- the sounds are free to download- and are royalty free to use in commercial products. Right on. It almost seems like there has to be a catch somewhere, but I've yet to find it. In the meantime, I've got it bookmarked!

I'll throw this one in there too:

The sounds are free to use, but keep in mind the licenses.
