I wish that promoters could just submit a press release to someone so it could be on the News page where it belongs.

Actually, now that I think about it, a lot of the things Announcements is used for would be better served by the news page. Ah well, I'm sure it'll happen eventually.

A lot of people will only visit the forum (myself included via the New Posts URL) so stuff on the news page will get over looked. Posting in Announcements also allows discussion / feedback about the item.
