Yet another color matching game! Behold thy physics!

Download (http://files.slembcke.net/idg/CriticalMass.tgz)

For the impatient, clicking on pieces removes them. Touching four pieces of the same color together removes them from the board. Read the README for more information.

Still very much a work in progress. What do you think?

Please let us know if you have any troubles with it. Also, I hope everything is pretty simple and clear in terms of gameplay. Like Skorche said, there's still a lot to come (both in terms of neat powerups and graphical flare), but any suggestions regarding what you see here will be greatly appreciated!

Awesome!

I can't wait to see it when you've added some more "graphical flare".

In terms of gameplay, I think something that would add a lot to it would be a short delay before they disappeared, in which you could add more to the collection. So you'd assemble four, and they'd get highlighted and make some sort of noise. You then have half a second or so to make another ball touch. If you manage that, you hear another (higher pitched) sound and you get another half second. Once your time runs out, they disappear, and you get the cumulative score (presumably connecting eight would give you a much higher score than connecting four twice). If you break the chain before the time runs out, you hear a frustrating sound.

Well, it'd be nice if it didn't just quit when I lose, so I can see what score I got :P

Also, there doesn't seem to be much gameplay... removing any ball other than a white one (or occasionally an exploding one) is almost never worthwhile...

Hey that's cool! There's something missing but it's on a good direction.

There still hasn't been a casual physics puzzler that has blown the world away, but there will be one for sure, one just has to find the right idea.

Maybe this is the one:

... at least it's the first one that had me addicted.

I played that, it's cool but there's still something lacking. The game worked pretty much also without advanced physics, the physics dont add much to the gamplay.
