Would it put a horrible damper on the current production run of Hooptie to begin a new, limited, special Inkubator project for uDevGame 2002?

If we won any prizes, we could draw to see which member got them, or we could just donate them to iDevGames for a future contest (or would that potentially bias the judges? I doubt it, they are honest people), or use them in some way to benefit the community.

We've got a great group here, (and growing!), and I'm sure there are those people out there who don't have the time to create a whole game for uDevGame, but who would like to contribute.

We would push ourselves to create a great complete game, quickly ... and that would be a wonderful challenge, I think.

So what does everyone think?

OK, some stupid questions before I vote :)

- I'm lazy and tired tonight, :p is there a page that details uDevGame? That page will probably answer the following questions...

- What are the requirements for uDevGame 2002?

- Can we enter Hooptie?

- When is the due date for entry?

Always interested in a good challenge!
Thanks for the info!

Hrm, from what I understand of uDevGame, Hooptie itself is not eligible to be entered in the contest. However, since it doesn't start until July, maybe we can bring Hooptie a little further along than it currently is before we make any decision about entering as a group ..or not.

With the people we have today, I don't believe it would cripple Hooptie to also work on a side, smaller-scale project for the contest.

I'm all for a new project other than Hooptie, but it might not have to be at Hooptie's expense.

Personally, I vote "no". Reason: with the talent pool that Hooptie has, it will probably kill other entries that only have a programmer doing programming, art and sounds (i.e. me :)).

Please look inside the "Contents" board and you will see a post that has last year's rules and FAQ. Remember, we are re-working some rules, so just use the 2001 to get up to speed.

Hooptie wouldn't qualify as it has been "distributed" to the public. Although you could use parts of your code, for example, some code that concerns moving sprites.

Inkubator as a team can indeed enter, but you will have to decide how to divide your prize(s).

I hope this helps.

Hehehehe, a whole 6 people took the poll and they are split 50/50. Considering how many people read and participate in the Inkubator project I'm wondering why there are not more votes.
