Howdy,
Does anybody know if you can export 3d models from Maya PLE. I would like to make an object in maya and then export it to a 3d format like .obj or something similar that I could work with in openGL. Have they crippled export the learning editions export capabilities? I hope not.
Thanks
A.W.

The learning edition can't export.
There is a hack whereby you use a script to write your model in a text format to Maya's console, then copy-paste that into a text editor. You'd have to Google for it.

My google searches didn't come up with anything.

I don't know if there is a way, perhaps that is why it was free (for me at least)...
Lawyers have had a little fun with this recently, as long as you don't use the OGL model you created in MayaPLE for anything above freeware (and low cost Shareware in some cases) *supposedly* You're fine, but as Cosmid said I don't want to test the limits of the ravenous Lawyers.
{Edit} The polocies for Maya PLE are as folows
