I've made Hooptie's eyes more glassy.... I tried adding the H logo in this screen someplace, and even tried replacing the H in Hooptie with it, but nothing looks good, so the eyes ended up being the only change. You can use this if you like, or stick with the old, I leave it up to you :-) If you prefer the new eyes though, let me know, so I can update the Game Over screen too...

I'm not sure if it's just me.. but does the shading on Hooptie look wrong to anyone else? Where's the light source coming from?? It looks like from beneath because of the shading on Hoopties beak, but other places such as the eyes, it looks like the light is from above.
Just a thought.
Oh, and while im here:
Hooptie is a cool game but waaay hard! I'm only up to level three. Are you guys going to add in an option to save the level the player has reached?
Also, sometimes when hooptie pushes a block into a moving robot, the robot is squished, despite being out in the open. Is this meant to happen??
Keep up the good work everyone!!

It's just you. :D Illustrations don't have to make sense. Otherwise the Simpsons would have 5 fingers.

The current levels are sample levels, they are intended to help developers develop the game. Eventually we'll have a really cool set of levels intended for players which are way easier to begin with, way harder to end with and offer much more variety with more enemies and more tiles. Saving isn't currently planned but a jump to level feature might be implemented soon. In the latest version of Hooptie you can also load custom levels. Might I suggest that you update to the latest version of Hooptie here (http://64.246.17.165/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=224), download some additional levels here (http://inkubator.idevgames.com/levels.sit), download the level file specification (it's really easy to understand) here (http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/*checkout*/inkubator/hooptie/obj-c/documentation/map_values.rtf?content-type=application/rtf) and roll some of your own levels.
They're really easy to create. Simply copy the style as found in Alan's levels or in the levels in the Resource directory of Hooptie. To create a package of levels (which you can then load into Hooptie) simply create a new folder with the extension ".hlvls" and inside it insert the levels sequentially numbered from "level1.txt" (e.g. "level2.txt", "level3.txt", etc.) You can have as many as you want.
The reason I suggest this is that I've passed all the levels I've played so far (there are only 8 level designs in total available at the moment). So I'd really like some new ones to challenge me.
Anyone else interested in creating levels is also welcome to give it a whirl (and remember to send us your work). We also have two editors available in early stages of development to assist you (search the forums for them).
Also, sometimes when hooptie pushes a block into a moving robot, the robot is squished, despite being out in the open. Is this meant to happen??
Yes, it occurs when the alien is moving towards the tile you are pushing ice on to. You see otherwise we'd have to make the alien jump to infront of the ice or do something else strange that wouldn't look good. So we just make it disappear instead.
Keep up the good work everyone!!
Thanks for your feedback and support,
Mark

The new eyes make hooptie look like he's really obsessed with that shiny thing off-camera maybe like one of those golden hooptie letters. Now I'm thinking maybe Hooptie should be looking downwards to one of those golden penguin statues lying on the snow with those eyes.
