Currently on version tracker there are 5 mac mud clients (http://www.versiontracker.com/mp/new_search.m?productDB=mac&mode=Quick&OS_Filter=MacOSX&search=mud+client): hydraMUD (me), Cantrip, Mudoke, LegendWeaverX, and Savitar (non-os X native).
As the new comer to the arena, I've found myself a little intimidated by their support and fan base. Even though I've only been working since October 2002 though I feel I've made great strides to surpass these other clients; whom have been under development for years+.
So I ask, if there are any MUD/MUVE players here, please try hydraMUD; and if you think it has merit, post your opinions on version tracker (http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=16658&db=mac). I've worked hard to make it faster than any other client available. I just want to know that my efforts are not in vain.
Currently hydraMUD is in alpha v0.4.6. It is currently the smallest, fastest MUD client available for Mac OS X. (don't believe me? try it yourself) It's even faster than terminal telnet in my opinion. I've put in about 60 man-hours of work on it and have written well over 3500 lines of Obj-C. It features embedded Perl text parsing and the smartest url parser available (custom by me).
here's the page for it:
