I think the idea posted earlier about having some sort of intermediate state between dying/pausing/starting to let the user "get ready" would be a good idea.
I think it might be something menial enough for me to be able to accomplish it too, maybe. What do you guys think?
If I interpret the way hooptie works correctly, it would be a state in between those other states and the playing state, displaying a "Get Ready" message and either waiting for input or counting down, 3..2..1..GO!.
Just my opinion.

That sounds about right to me :-) I know it is a feature that I am quite in favor of :-)

This sounds like quite a popular idea. Alan, would you be able to draw up some graphics for it. Possibly just a set of numbers and then "Go" in the ice-like text you've been using?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

And I even have numbers 0-9 all done up :-) I'll send you those, and a "Go!" graphic when I get home and have a chance. Do you want a "Get Ready..." too?

I don't think I'd use a "Get Ready..." graphic.

Well, here are the graphics for whomever is up for the task. I ended up creating new "3" "2" "1" graphics that are the same point size as the "Go!" graphic.
