Hi Everyone,
Has anyone heard of the agency called Wireless Developer Agency? http://www.wirelessdeveloper.com/
One of their artist representatives has contacted me about signing a agency deal so they can represent me to wireless game companies. They want a 2 year commitment from me that essentially states that they are my exclusive representative for the creation of soundtracks for wireless games.
I know very little about this company although their website seems legit.
Any thoughts?

2 years is a long time in the wireless world and MUCH can happen! Like 2 years ago, DoCoMo was unstopable. But they hit a speed bump recently.
I would seek out their list of current clients and exchange info with them. If they aren't willing to disclose who is onboard with them, then move on. Also, when you release work, is all your work "theirs" or can you do your own "side-work?"
One thing that comes to mind is when you have some asset, you get paid for that asset by your middle-man. That middle-man sells/licences your asset to company B, who in turns licences it to company C. So, how far down that chain will you see revenue from? I think sometimes this is the case in the music industry. Like some K-TEL record label releasing a CD, but the original artists never seeing a cent on the sales. I'm no expert, so perhaps I should stop offering advice. Your best bet is to get a lawyer to check over the contract or at least get some books on media law.
How is your portfolio? How is access to your website? I think in this world of Google that we live in, it isn't hard to have people/companys come to you. One great way is to offer free content, that will get you more traffic. (Not to say work for free 100% of the time!!)
Kind of an example. I have seen Danlab's games and website. I was impressed with his skills as an artist. Even though I work in the industry myself, I commissioned him to design a logo for my soccer team. Costly but well worth it. Based on that, I felt comfortable to offer him further commisions for a re-design of iDevGames. Before I asked him, I looked around at other web designers. In many cases I was asked to put up 1/2 of the costs before work would begin. That makes sense for them, but it was a gamble for me because without having any experience with those designers, I had no idea if I could trust them to provide me with good service. Of course my little story might help to show why such a talent agency is necessary these days. ie Everyone and their brother is a web designer/artist these days, and weeding out the junk from the gems is time consuming. So such a talent agency is helpful for companys to find the gems I suppose. Going back to what I was saying, if you have talent and it shows on your site, you will be shown as a gem, and traffic will come to you. Does that make sense?
For 3d artists, there is TurboSquid. Maybe there is something like that for your skills. If so, that might be a good way to pick up leads and get your own clients.
